大風音樂劇場創立於2000年，致力於精緻音樂劇的製作與演出。創辦人連乙州先生在「想要做一齣好戲給女兒看」的想法下，開始製作親子音樂劇的生涯。果然，第一齣兒童音樂劇「睡美人」推出後，佳評如潮，當年即榮獲中國時報十大表演藝術節目奬，創辦人的一對千金更是場場必到的嘉賓，在女兒滿足與肯定的精神鼓勵，以及眾多觀眾朋友的支持下，大風音樂劇場在表演藝術界中開始嶄露頭角。
秉持著以豐富的音樂和戲劇元素呈現音樂劇的基本精神：音樂劇的詞曲，就應該等同台詞一樣，是可以直接闡述劇情的。大風歷來的作品都秉持這樣的原則用心創作，希望結合歌、舞、演一體的極緻表演，呈現最豐富的表演藝術，吸引眾多的觀眾走進劇場。截至2006年春天，除了創團演出「睡美 |

人」外，大風一共製作過「胡桃鉗」、「小紅帽狂想曲」、「威尼斯商人」等四齣兒童精緻音樂劇，以及「梁祝」、「荷珠新配」等兩齣成人音樂劇，演出的足跡遍及台北、台中、台南，音樂劇的授權範圍遠及中國大陸，演出場次已近百場，累積觀眾將近10萬人次。
大風音樂劇場希望建立以製作人制的劇團環境，提供一個可以充分發揮的舞台，給台灣所有音樂劇相關的創作者及演出人員，也正因為如此，台灣近年最頂尖的人才、最有創造力的藝術家，都曾在大風的作品中，淋漓盡致地發揮所長。展望未來，大風將持續提供最好的表演舞台給所有藝術工作者，也向所有合作的工作夥伴致上最誠摯的敬意。
改編名劇還要改編名音樂，站在偉人的肩膀上創作，一直是大風的製作方向之一，在親子音樂劇的領域中頗受好評，目前正朝名劇加原創音樂的想法前進，也陸續製作出岀威尼斯商人、荷珠新配、梁祝等劇，受到莫大的推崇，未來大風希望開創自己的原創劇本和原創音樂，期許在華人音樂劇中佔有一席之地。
Dafen Musical Theater, established in 2000, has devoted itself to the production and performance of fine musicals. With the idea of making good musicals for his beloved daughters, Mr. I-Zo Lang, the founder of Dafen Musical Theater, starts his career of making family musicals. Dafen’s first family’s musical “Sleeping Beauty” earned itself plenty of audience’s reviews and praises and the top-10 performance award held by China Times.
Dafen makes musicals based on this principle and hope that by combining with singing, dancing, and acting, it can attract people into the theater to enjoy the performance. By spring 2006, Dafen has presented six works. Those musicals are played nationwide in Taipei, Taichung and Tainan, and are out launched in Mainland China as well. Dafen has given over hundred performances and accumulated more than 100 thousand audiences.
Dafen has been building a producer-based theater environment to provide a stage for those talented musical actors and related production staffs. Therefore, those most professional artists and creative actors have been playing in Dafen’s works and making excellent performance.
Dafen has earned reputations on adapting not only the famous master pieces but also their theme music and applied on its family musicals. On this basis, Dafen has succeeded in its plays such as “The Matching Match”, “The Merchant of Venice”, and “Butterfly Lovers” by using the adapted script and original music. In the future, Dafen’s goal will be to make musicals with its own original script and music and also play a remarkable role in the field of Chinese musicals.
